Your plan looks very well thought out and planned. You have really gone into a great deal of detail. I like the way you have created small groups for instruction and made allowances through the year for adjusting those groups. Makes sense to do it in a similar fashion to reading groups. I hope your students benefit from this study.
ReplyDeleteI am interested to know how you grade the compostions. If you are using rubrics, I am looking for some good ones and would like to see what you use if you are willing to share. :-)
This is very detailed. I am impressed and a little intimidated by it. I especially like that on top of everything else you have already identified the literature you will be using. You look like you are ready to go.
ReplyDeleteHave you considered having another teacher participate so you can compare results from more than one classroom?
ShaLynna, the only rubrics I use are the ones provided by the state. They are like 4 pages long, but our district has slimmed them both down to one. I can send you them if you would be interested in that. But I slim them down even further to just 4 letters and that's how I grade them--I give the kids a number, and then I write L, O, G, or S next to the number, so they know what they have to work on. L=language, O=organization, G=Grammar, S=Support
